Catherine the Great in Crimea

I made this comic detailing Russia’s annexation of Crimea under Catherine the Great and Grigory Potemkin while living in Russia as an Alfa Program fellow in January 2022, just before Russia’s attack on Ukraine. I was writing as a journalist and made this contribution to the American magazine Russian Life, where I had interned as a digital editor the year previously.
