The following collection of paintings, drawings, etchings, sewing, sculpting, murals, collage and doodles represent the evolution of my work from 2007.

Summer – Fall 2019
I produced most of these works during the summer of 2019 in Comrat, Moldova, where I was conducting research for my master’s thesis on the country’s media system. Others were done in France with family, and some as I was studying for my second year of a Russian and Eastern European studies master’s program. These connections to the former Soviet Union and Russian Orthodoxy has influenced much of the work from these months. This includes an icon depicting the story of the woman who washes Jesus’s feet. I have a deep respect for the Russian Orthodox Church an the artwork associated with it, and so attempted to incorporate stylistic elements of iconography and Biblical themes into my work.

Phoenix Project 2017
What began as a mistake became a group collaboration and ended in destruction. We joked – the Miras Phoenix symbolized the rebirth of the organization, and like the mythical bird, the organization would rise anew. But the office really needed a makeover – and so, back to ashes she burned.
